In the example in Figure 6 below, the best location for the sub red line has a dip at 70 Hz. I bridged the right input and output to do the calibration and I got nothing on the right or left meter bar. Both figure 8 and figure 9 clearly tell a different story. If so, then what is the rationale for this view? Page 1 of 2. I could email screen grabs as well as the REW file.

Frankly though, I don't trust the free SPL meter and mic on my phone though it has been handy for showing changes in noise floor as I removed things and added treatments. It's not anechoic by any stretch from your other thread but it's a room where you can hear every part of your breath when nothing is running. But, I had all my stuff handy - mic stand, mic and preamp, and some time and figured why not - so I fired up REW Room EQ Wizard for the uninitiated and got some results.
Definitely traps and panels and pads.
The absolute best end result was playing around with the listening position and I can confirm, once that was nailed down to the best response possible, my imaging seems more lifelike and the little details that seemed to have been clouded by uneven bass response are now clear and present.
But it only lists set up info for a USB mike as far as I can tell.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. Besides it's a Behringer ECMand people have said that they're noisy for recording purposes.

The dip at 50 Hz hom perplexing, as is the spike at Hz. Mike, you might say that the nearfields are educational in this process. Hello, I am new here. Something to check on. In the first ms, we see mostly 20 — 30 dB of decay. Above approximately 40 Hz, they will tend to smooth out the room response without adding significantly more output than a single sub.

Anyone here familiar with REW who could look at my graphs for any insight?
I managed to get one sine wave to run but it said something about only being Keebo This is an interesting subject for me. I drove my wife crazy tonight running constant sweeps Anyway, I figured thezter, right channel is done sack let's see if the EQ settings I applied for both channels help the left out just as much.
That way, the mains and a single sub load the room from three positions. I just need to get my measurement setup working. I suspect you are doing something wrong with REW as this program is basically very accurate as far as I know.

I'll post a few graphs when I get a minute. I didn't grab most of the data tonight, I had to run all this from the Audio PC which is enough of a hassle and thdater getting late. I have developed shhack targets after many years of experimentation, measurement and evaluation.
Thank you for your response!! If your listening position is much closer to the monitors than to the off-axis reflections, this is not as big of a deal. Apologies for being offline so long.
The decay rate is as slow as 30 dB in ms. I interpret that as traffic noise I live on quite a busy road. Hi Paul, thanks for your reply.
